Just when you thought your days of being a camper at CBS were over, we found a way to keep you around a little longer! We have designed our high school programs to instill leadership skills into our oldest campers, and allow them to be positive role models for our younger campers. These students will develop a good work ethic, experience significant growth, and have an absolute blast during their stay at camp.

Senior Campers (Campers who have completed the 9th grade)
The senior
camper
program is a
transitional
year
intended to
break
campers out
of the
traditional
camper mold
and equip
them for the
high school
programs.
Camp is
undoubtedly
going to be
PHUN and
within that
environment
the high
school
programs
facilitate
deeper and
more
meaningful
relationships
through
values such
as teamwork,
servanthood,
self-discipline,
and many
others.
These values
are built
upon
Christian
principles,
and the
senior
camper
program will
explore how
this faith
can be lived
out in
day-to-day
life.

Leadership Training (Campers who have completed the 10th grade)
Leadership
Training is
a big step
in the high
school
programs as
it is
uniquely
focused on
character
development
through
various
leadership
roles. They
will be
helping in
areas of
responsibility
such as the
Post Office,
Oasis, and
Adopt-A-Cabin
program.
Also, those
involved in
Leadership
Training in
our
three-week
terms, have
the
opportunity
to become
certified
lifeguards.
Our goal at
camp is for
campers to
learn to be
responsible
leaders and
have a
positive
influence on
others by
engaging in
the life of
camp.
Ultimately,
Leadership
Training
will aid in
an
increasingly
stronger
foundation
that campers
can build
from in
their
life-long
steps of
maturity
inspired by
the
Christian
message.

The CREW (Campers who have completed the 11th grade)
Work Crew
is a special
program for
those
campers who
are coming
to camp to
serve
because they
love camp
and what it
is about.
All great
leaders know
that serving
first is
imperative,
and this is
a core value
to what we
see in Jesus
Christ. Work
crew is an
opportunity
for campers
to model the
work of a
servant
leader. It
is a
privileged
position to
do some
behind the
scenes work
by taking
part in the
positive
things that
camp is
doing in the
lives of
youth
through
friendships,
good work
ethic, and
being an
encouragement
to others.
During time
off there
will be
opportunities
to enjoy the
different
things that
camp has to
offer, but
more
importantly
there will
be a deeper
element of
discipleship
as these
young adults
are learning
to give
themselves
for the sake
of others.

The
application
process is the same
as other campers,
so if you
have been a
previous
camper then
please use
your
password and
email from
previous
years.

Junior Counselor (Campers who have completed the 12th grade)
The
Junior
Counselor
program is a
staff
position for
one of our
three-week
terms. It is
designed for
seniors in
high school
to receive a
unique
perspective
of the
meaningful
Christ-centered
relationship
between
counselors
and campers.
Junior
Counselors
get to
participate
in the
day-to-day
responsibilities
of being a
traditional
counselor by
being placed
in a cabin
with eight
kids,
assisting in
teaching
classes, and
helping lead
Pow Wows.
Junior
Counselors
work
alongside
two
counselors,
and they not
take the
place of a
traditional
counselor.
This program
is intended
to be a
teaching
experience
for those
who are
seriously
interested
in serving
as a
counselor at
Camp
Balcones
Springs.
