Greetings!
I am incredibly excited to be writing this letter to you as the much-anticipated time of summer camp draws near. Let me begin by introducing myself. My name is Shannon Morrison and as of December 2006 I have been serving as the new director of Camp Balcones Springs. During the past 9 years, I have worked as an elementary school principal and classroom teacher.

My hometown is Lubbock, Texas, and I attended West Texas A&M for my bachelors degree and Texas Tech for my masters. Previously, I have worked at Camp La Junta, student life camp, several church camps, and developed and directed the Edge science adventure camp. My wife, Melanie, is a busy stay at home mom for our two children, Bailey and Stephen. Melanie graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in therapeutic recreation. I believe that the values taught at camp are life changing and offer an experience no other setting can capture. I am dedicated to working with young people and assisting in developing them to their fullest potential physically, mentally, socially and spiritually.
